General Specification:
The STN/FSTN monochrome liquid crystal display is a passive matrix display module based on the super-twisted nematic technology. Its core consists of STN/FSTN liquid crystal panels, frames, zebra paper (conductive rubber strips), and PCB (printed circuit board), etc. It has advantages such as low power consumption, wide viewing angle, moderate cost, and good visibility in sunlight. It is widely used in various instruments and meters, industrial control, and consumer electronics scenarios. The following will explain it from the product composition, core characteristics, and application scenarios.
l. Product Core Composition and Characteristics
1. STN/FSTN Liquid Crystal Panels
STN Liquid Crystal: Full name is Super Twisted Nematic (STN), the liquid crystal molecules have a twisting angle of 180° - 270°. Compared with TN screens, it can drive more pixels and has a larger amount of display information. Common colors include yellow, green, and blue. The typical display is blue background white characters or yellow background black characters. It is suitable for displaying text and simple graphics. The power consumption is lower than TFT, and the response speed is relatively slow (about 150-200ms).
FSTN Liquid Crystal: Full name is Film Compensated STN (FSTN), which adds a compensation film to the STN basis, eliminating chromatic dispersion and achieving black background white characters or white background black characters. The contrast and viewing angle are further improved. It is the mainstream choice for high-end monochrome displays and is mostly used in devices with higher requirements for display clarity.
Both support reflection, semi-transmission, and transmission display modes. The reflective type does not require a backlight, has extremely low power consumption, and is suitable for outdoor and low-power scenarios; the transmission type requires a backlight and is suitable for weak light environments.
2. Frame
The frame is the structural supporting component of the display. It is usually made of engineering plastics such as ABS or metal materials, and its functions include: fixing the liquid crystal panel, PCB, and backlight components, preventing internal structural damage from external force impact; sealing and preventing dust and moisture, protecting the liquid crystal and circuitry from environmental erosion; some have positioning tabs or installation holes, facilitating the rapid assembly of the module into terminal equipment and serving as a shading device to enhance display contrast.
3. Zebra Paper (Conductive Rubber Strip)
Zebra paper is a flexible conductive connection component that connects the liquid crystal panel electrodes with the PCB. The surface has black and white stripes, with the black part being the conductive layer (carbon powder or metal coating), and the white part being the insulating layer. It has the following characteristics: it can adapt to the small spacing deviation between the panel and the PCB, is easy to install, achieves reliable conductivity through heat pressing or pressure contact without welding, is suitable for mass production; it has certain elasticity and can buffer vibration to protect the connection part, and is commonly used for signal transmission in segment display screens and small-sized dot matrix screens, with a cost lower than FPC soft boards.
4. PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
PCB is the core carrier of the module's control and driving. It integrates driving ICs, controllers, resistors, capacitors, etc., and functions include: carrying the driving circuit to convert external control signals into the driving voltage required by the liquid crystal panel, controlling pixel switching and display content; providing power management to supply power to the liquid crystal, backlight, and ICs, ensuring stable operation with low power consumption; providing interfaces (such as SPI, I²C, parallel interfaces) to facilitate communication with the host or single-chip microcomputer, supporting real-time refreshing of display data, and protecting the circuit from static electricity and interference.

Answer: No problem. Firstly, please kindly send us your specification/ drawing paper
If you have not the specification, you can also provide your samples; we will recommend the suitable one
if it is standard products. Or we can customize for you based on your own requirement.
2.This LCD is just what we want, but it is big size, do you have any smaller size? And the display content need to be changed a little.
Answer: For the segment type LCD module, if you need modify the outline size or display content,
a new LCD glass module is need. We have to open new tooling for you.
3. This LCD display is HTN type, but I want STN type,can you make?

4. I want customize a new LCD module. Can you do?

Answer: General speaking, it will cost 15 to 25 days after drawing paper confirmation and tooling charge payment,
